OPERATION: SNOWPOINT

This is the most recent project I have been working on. I developed this project as a way to build upon my level design skills by using the Industry standard techniques that I have highlighted below. This project has been created in Unreal Engine 5.2

For the project I have created a level that is set in the mountains of Soviet Russia. The gameplay objective is to disable a nuclear missile held in a secure facility. This mission has been designed with stealth as the primary playstyle, however a louder option is available. 

Assets and Templates used

  • Interaction With Advanced Locomotion System (Movement, combat and AI systems)

  • Synty Prototype, Apocalypse, Gang Pack (level design props and background)

  • AW101 Helicopter (Sketchfab)

I learnt different skills whilst working on this project that will be able to be transferred to future projects.

  • Affordances and signifiers.

  • Leading lines.

  • Cinematic design.

  • Breadcrumb technique to drip feed the player useful resources.

  • Landmarks.

  • Creating objectives and narrative to keep the player interested.
