INDUSTRY BRIEFS - TOTAL WAR: TROY

This was the first level design project that I made at Teesside University.

In this project Teesside University collaborated with Creative Assembly after Total War: Troy was released. I was tasked with creating an artefact that would properly captivate the theme and overall game. This project was the first time I had used Unreal Engine and therefore I learnt a lot about the engine during the time I was working on the module.

I decided to create a Trojan city that lay between a mountain pass. My artefact was the double layered city walls that I proposed was a late game upgrade to pre-existing mechanics with Total War: Troy.

I learnt many different skills whilst working on this project.
-
Learning the fundamentals of Unreal Engine 4
-
The importance of scale and the size of objects as within the project I had scaling issues that I had to overcome.
-
Learning the level design pipeline (from layouts and blockout to the final product)
